Geordie you make a great point. One thing about social media that is great like Linkedin, Twitter, and facebook has to do with SEO. Lots of agents today don't realize how using these tools really push you to the top of Search. Just recently Google launched Social search so this means that when you do type in a name and if that person is highly active on Facebook, or Linkedin then they will in many cases show up in a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in search.

I'd take it a little bit beyond google. I look up my clients on Linkedin. Google tells you all sorts of stuff, some of it true. Linkedin is how your customer WANTS to be seen by others. Especially for professionals, it is a place where they can brag a little.

If I see a prospect on Linkedin I ask them.. "Did you find me on Linkedin?" or if I see we have a shared connection "Did Mr. Underhill recommend me?" Guess what, now they will take the time to look ME up on Linkedin, but I didn't have to tell them to...
