Geordie, I totally get it. I was talking to David Gibbons with Zillow on this topic and he sees the ability at some point for geotagging to morph into a great buyers tool, he isn't so sold on foursquare but that said it is new sites like foursquare that either become something else as users discover news ways to use it or it allows for other companies to tweak the idea and make it even better. All very exciting.

Just think of all those times you are stuck in an airport with a 2 (6?) hour layover. Wouldn't it be great to meet up with a client or college classmate for lunch? If you both happen to be stuck at the airport, you could see them on Foursquare. What if you are at the airport and getting ready to take a cab home... and you see a neighbor on Foursquare is at the airport too... why not share a cab home? Foursquare is a "serendipity enabler."

I love that, see I'm new to it but it is situations like that were we have technology that allows us to connect up much easier. I'm going to have to remember that next time I'm at a conference. Thanks Geordie.

I find Foursquare really helpful at large conferences. In Austin for SXSW it was the tool that allowed me to meet up with folks after each day's presentations. No need to call or text to see where people where headed - I could look on Foursquare and see that everyone was checked in at a particular restaurant.

Foursquare is a silly game, but if you are looking for a house in my zipcode.... there a really good chance I'm the Mayor of each and every neighborhood.
